Anna Angelina (Tartaglia) Gemma, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, in Warwick, RI, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 12, 1942, in Providence, RI, she was a dedicated and well-known figure in her community.

Ann was the devoted mother of Marcus Gemma of Providence, RI, Jessica Gemma-Murphy of Warwick, RI, and Joshua Gemma of Attleboro, MA. She was a fiercely proud grandmother to Caitlin Murphy. Ann's siblings, Gloria Tartaglia-Tucker, and brother-in-law Bob Tucker, of Arizona, David Tartaglia sister-in-law Denise Brito-Tartaglia of Cranston, RI, and sister-in-law Anna Cappello, also hold her memory dear. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, the Hon. Alfred A. Gemma; her parents, Angelina Greco Tartaglia and Anthony Tartaglia; and her brother-in-law, Alessandro Cappello.

Ann was a passionate artist and painter, and later in life, she shared her love for books with the community through her work at the Warwick Public Library. She was a graduate of Rhode Island Junior College and engaged in many civic and community endeavors. She was a devout member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Apponaug.

Anna was perhaps best-known as her husband Al’s tireless partner, confidant, researcher and champion in his work in the service of the people of Warwick, and the State.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 8:30AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in her honor at 10:00AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick, RI.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.

Ann's legacy of love, creativity, and community will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a community enriched by her contributions and a family who will always cherish her memory.
