Carol Jean (Hunt) Wheat, 81, of Coventry, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Wayne E. C. Wheat, Warwick Police Department and companion of the late Robert “Bob” B. Ryan, Sr., Warwick Public Works. Born in East Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Aristide “Eddie” A. Carosi and Gertrude R. (Anderson) Carosi-Bushee.

Carol worked as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Warwick in the City Clerk's Office for several years. She was a graduate of Veterans Memorial High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy in life and meant everything to her. She had a great love of cooking which led to many great meals around the table. She enjoyed reading, especially cookbooks and mysteries, knitting, sewing, the beach and family vacations. Many beloved memories were shared by the ocean with good food and many laughs. She was adored by her family for her love of life, devotion to family and great flare for decorating and style. She was the heart of the family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her beloved children, Elizabeth J. Charette and husband Timothy of Warwick, Jennifer S. Wheat-Papa and Michael W. McGovern of Coventry and Melanie A. Taylor of Tennessee, her siblings, Edward A. Carosi and wife JoAnn of North Providence, William D. Carosi and wife Jane of Warwick, six grandchildren Eric S. Anderson (wife Kate) Katharine E. Cioe (husband Nicholas), Ryan W. Charette, Carly J. Papa, Liam M. McGovern, Lindsay J. Demers (husband Dwayne) and seven great-grandchildren Gabriella, Anderson and Olivia Cioe, Lucas and Jack Anderson, Delyla and Jayden Demers and many nieces and nephews she held dear to her heart.

She was the sister of the late Robert A. Carosi of North Kingstown.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of East Greenwich, 3 Peirce Street, East Greenwich, 02818. Interment will be private.
