Driving without a license
On Oct. 2 Fredy Alberto Espinoza-Cabrera, 26, of 129 Whittier St. Apt. #3 in Providence, was charged with Driving Without/Expired License, 2nd Offense.  Espinoza-Cabrera was taken into custody after being pulled over and not being able to provide a valid license, and was later released with a court summons.

Reckless driving
On Sept. 29 at approximately 5:59 p.m. Sgt. David Loffler attempted to pull over a motorcycle driving in the area of Killingly St. and Maribeth Dr. because the driver was not wearing any eye protection.
After the Sgt. activated his patrol car’s lights and siren and attempted to pull the motorcycle over, the driver started speeding down the road on the right shoulder of the road, passing the other cars before turning down Traver Ave.
The officer was able to get the motorcycle’s license plate number before losing it, and it traced back to Matthew Olivieri, 45, of 15 Berclay St. in Johnston.  Olivieri did have an active license but did not have a motorcycle endorsement listed.
The Sgt. went to Olivieri’s house but the person there said he no longer lived there, although there was a motorcycle cover lying on the driveway.
An affidavit and arrest warrant was prepared for Olivieri, who would be charged with Reckless Driving/Drag Racing/Eluding Police and Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty.
On Oct. 1, Olivieri was located by West Warwick police and taken into custody without incident, before later being processed and arraigned on the charges.
