J-DAPA prepares for Beauty and the Beast

Posted

J-DAPA is preparing to present a tale as old as time, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” set to play April 27 and 28 at 6:30 p.m., May 4 at 2 and 6:30 p.m., and May 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Johnston High School auditorium.

Experience this enchanted musical where a girl from a small provincial town feels like an outcast, and a prince has had a spell cast on him to be trapped in the body of a hideous beast. If the beast cannot learn to love and be loved, he and his castle will be doomed for all time. This classic magical love story will come to life on stage with unforgettable characters, sets, and costumes and a stunning musical score including “Be our Guest”, “Gaston” and, of course, the title song, “Beauty and the Beast.”

Director Donna Tellier says, “Beauty and the Beast is a heart warming musical that has many lessons that still hold true to this day and age. People can change after making mistakes.  But most importantly, don’t judge a person by their outward appearance, get to know someone for what’s on the inside. I feel our cast will do that for you. The exquisite voices, dance scenes, and beautiful costumes will take you away from everyday life”

J-DAPA’S Beauty and the Beast cast includes Bryn Martin as Belle, Marland Chang as Beast, Dave Banno as Gaston, Matthew Eisemann as LeFou, Keith Johnson as Maurice, Zack Zambarano as Lumiere,  Patrick Leonard as Cogsworth, Merynn Flynn as Mrs. Potts, Kenzee Silva as Chip, Ashlyn Banno as Babette, and Renee Roy as the Wardrobe.  Eric Van Dervort is the musical director.

Tickets can be purchased now at tututix.com/j-dapa for $13 or day of show at the door for $15.
