Early registration open for Johnston youth basketball

Early registration is open for the Johnston Parks and Recreation Department’s youth basketball program from Sept. 21 to Oct. 3.

Boys from first through 12th grade and girls from first through 12th grade are eligible to enter. Boys in first and second grade are $65 each with $45 for each additional sibling. Boys in third through 12th grade are $80 each with $60 each for additional siblings. Girls are $80 each with $60 for every additional sibling. Early registration also helps in ensuring your child receives the right jersey.

For any registration after Oct. 3, $5 will be added to the above prices. Anyone interested in signing their children up for the program can stop by the Johnston Recreation Office on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Siblings will be placed on the same teams, while a draft will be organized for any child in third grade or higher. Coaches are encouraged to sign up sooner than later so that they can help get teams together.
