This summer, members of the Narragansett Bay Quilters’ Association (NBQA) were handed a bag of random fabric and tasked to create a quilt that would then benefit the needy. Three quilts in this fabric challenge were awarded prizes and all quilts are on display at Central Library from now through the month of December.
The Comfort Quilt Committee assembled bags of fabric which included various colors and amounts. No two bags were alike and fabric members were asked to assemble a comfort quilt that would be suitable for donating to the MAE Organization after their showing at the library.
NBQA was organized in 1876 with the goal of providing an opportunity for learning and enjoying the fellowship of other quilters interested in creativity and accomplishment. The organization meets in-person on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at 1558 South County Trail in East Greenwich; in the winter months, the group meets on Zoom.
