Carole A. Wells, 83, (Det. WPD Ret.) passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024. She was the wife of the late George P. Wells Jr. Born in Woburn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Beverly (Harkins) Ralphs.
Carole was the first female Police Officer on the Warwick Police Department retiring as a detective in 1982. She was a member of Civil Air Patrol where she had met George. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Warwick where she volunteered. Carole enjoyed sewing and most especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Carole is survived by her children, Sharon Yuettner, Paul Wells, and his wife Amy, Joyce Gaspard and her husband Pete, George Wells and his wife Mary, and Raymond Wells and his wife Marianne, she was the mother of the late John Wells.
She was the grandmother of 17, great-grandmother of 24, and great great-grandmother of 2.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. in Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Her visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
