Semi-formal a hit

Every year, Johnston High School’s current sophomore class holds their own Sophomore Semi-Formal.

This year, the Class of 2021 had the event this past Friday evening on April 26 at the Radisson Hotel in Warwick from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Students started arriving as early as 6:30 p.m. to find their tables and take pictures with their friends and dates. There were a total of eight tables and a dance floor for students and teachers. The theme for the night was enchanted garden, featuring lilac and light greens.

Dinner was served from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fresh garden salad with Italian dressing was served as an appetizer, and a variety of drinks was offered. The main course was chicken marsala with mashed potatoes and mixed seasonal vegetables. Dessert was chocolate layer cake with fudge frosting.

Class advisor Louis DiMaio, class president Nicholas Cronan and three other class officers have been diligently working on this event and made the entire night possible. All the students had a great night with pictures, dinner, music, dancing and memories that will last a lifetime. (Story by Trista Clark, photos courtesy of Nicholas Petrillo)
