RESISTING ARREST

Around 8:13 p.m., July 11, Warwick Police responded to Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), at 400 East Ave., to assist CCRI Police with an arrest. CCRI Officer Lt. Raymond Blinn told Warwick Police Officer Jake R. Reddy that they spotted a man smoking “some type of drug” at a bus stop on campus.

Police identified the suspect as Breck T. Tully, 55, 386 Annaquatucket Road, North Kingstown.

“He stated that he confronted him and attempted to place him into handcuffs,” Reddy wrote in the arrest report. “Blinn stated that Tully resisted, to which (CCRI Officer Steven Nelson) responded to the scene and they were able to secure Tully into handcuffs to the rear.”

Tully was searched and police say they found “small burnt foil wraps and a lighter.”

Police charged Tully with one count of Resisting Legal or Illegal Arrest and one count of Disorderly Conduct.

DUI

Around 1:40 a.m., July 12, Warwick Police responded to Cumberland Farms at 87 West Natick Road “regarding a male causing a disturbance.”

A witness at the scene told police that a man driving a white 2012 Toyota Camry with Kansas plates drove west on West Natick Road, turned right and drove over the sidewalk and grass prior to parking at Cumberland Farms.

The witness told police that the man “came in at such a high rate of speed that it appeared as though once he struck the curb his vehicle appeared to fly in the air.” The witness pointed out the man to police, and told officers that he was being very “weird.”

“She then pointed to his vehicle and stated after he came into the lot, she noticed that he sustained front end damage and popped both his tires on impact when colliding with the curb,” Warwick Police Officer Michael J. Giorgio wrote in the arrest report.

Police approached the driver and identified him as Kyle Anthony Cordova, 30, of 4 East Main St., Central Village, Connecticut.

The driver allegedly told police, “I just want to go to sleep,” according to the arrest report.

Police say they smelled alcohol and the driver’s “face was blushed.”

During the investigation, Cordova stated that all he remembered was walking into Cumberland Farms and purchased a car charger, he indicated that he had no recollection of striking a curb and was unaware that his vehicle sustained any damages,” Giorgio wrote.

Police asked Cordova to submit to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He refused. Police arrested Cordova and charged him with DUI of Liquor, blood alcohol concentration (BAC) unknown, first offense.

“When asked if he could recall the amount of alcohol he consumed, he stated that he remembered having pineapple juice at an ‘event,’” Giorgio wrote. “When asked if he could describe the event, and where it took place, he was unable to expound on that information due to the fact he could not recall.”

DRUG POSSESSION

Around 5:04 p.m., July 17, Warwick Police responded to Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), at 400 East Ave., for the report of a man and woman detained by CCRI Police for a larceny. Dispatch advised that both suspects had outstanding active arrest warrants.

CCRI Police told Warwick Police that they would not be pursuing criminal charges against the pair. The woman had two Superior Court Full Bench Warrants for failing to appear at a restitution hearing.

The man was identified as Jonathan Alan Addison Jr., 33, of 79 Wilson St., Apt. 1B, Providence. Dispatch informed responding officers that Addison had an active Bench Warrant from North Providence Police for failing to appear at a Shoplifting charge arraignment.

Police eventually searched Addison’s wallet and say they found “what appeared to be methamphetamine in a clear cellophane bag,” according to the arrest report. The substance tested positive for meth. Addison was charged with two counts of Possession of Schedule I-V Controlled Substance (10 grams or less).

LARCENY

Around 8 a.m., July 18, a Cranston woman turned herself in on an active felony larceny arrest warrant.

The warrant stemmed from an incident reported around 8:41 p.m., Feb. 2. Warwick Police had responded to Walmart, 840 Post Road, for the report of a larceny.

A customer used the self-checkout, removed an envelope from his pocket, placed it on the right side of the scanner, checked out and left the store, accidentally leaving the envelope behind. The envelope allegedly contained $2,000 in cash. The shopper realized the envelope was missing later and returned to the store.

Store security told police that video surveillance showed a woman wearing a black sweatshirt and a grey “beanie” take the envelope form the side of the self-checkout register.

Store security told police that “the female party in the video had been identified by Walmart for an unrelated incident when they approached her and asked her for her identification,” according to the incident report.

Police identified the woman as Victoria L. Rohrig, 41, of 754 Park Ave., Apt. 2, Cranston.

Police called a number associated with Rohrig, but there was “no answer.” Police decided to charge Rohrig with Larceny Over $1,500 (and less than $5,000).

Five months later, Rohrig turned herself in at Warwick Police Headquarters. She was processed and placed into a cell to await transport to court.

NO BOAT CERTIFICATE

Around 6 p.m., July 19, the Warwick Police Marine Unit conducted two safety inspections, one of which resulted in a violation.

Police identified the operator as Arnardo Coronado Valerio, 21, of 67 Whittier Ave., Apt. 1, Providence. According to police, he was operating a black and yellow jet ski, but did not have a boater safety card, and told police that he never had one. He was told to respond to the Oakland Beach public boat ramp where he was given a district court summons for Operating Personal Watercraft with No Certificate.

EMBEZZLEMENT

At 2:53 a.m., Aug. 16, Cranston Police Officers arrested Christopher Paton, 43, of 145 Magnolia St., Apt. 6, Cranston, for Embezzlement. The arrest was the result of a previous incident and subsequent Arrest and Affidavit warrant arrest by Warwick Police Department. Paton was held overnight awaiting morning arraignment.

DRUG POSSESSION

Around 2:40 a.m., Aug. 14, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jay Waterman, 40, of 11 Coin St., Warwick, for possession of Schedule I-V Controlled Substance. The arrest was the result a traffic stop on Niantic Avenue at Pawnee Street. Waterman was awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.
