DOMESTIC SIMPLE ASSAULT

Around 2:04 a.m., Aug. 20, Cranston Police Officers arrested Molly O’Neil, 28, of 1586 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault. The arrest was the result of a disturbance call at the aforementioned location. O’Neil was awaiting arraignment.

At the same time, Cranston Police Officers arrested Andrew Lebron, 29, of 1586 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault. The arrest was the result of a disturbance call at the aforementioned location. Lebron was also awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

SHOPLIFTING

Around 5:50 p.m., Aug. 19, Cranston Police Officers arrested Amanda Fritsche, 41, of 208 East St., Cranston, for a Cranston Police Department arrest warrant for shoplifting. The arrest was the result of a service call at 770 Park Ave., first floor. Fritsche was arraigned and released, according to Cranston Police.

HABITUAL OFFENDER SHOPLIFTING

Around 4:25 p.m., Aug. 18, Cranston Police Officers arrested Lisa Torres, 46, of 160 Broad St., Providence, for Shoplifting and Habitual Offender-Shoplifting. The arrest was the result of a service call at Ocean State Mobil, 1441 Elmwood Ave. Torres was arraigned and transported to the ACI, according to Cranston Police.

NO CONTACT ORDER VIOLATION

Around 9:44 p.m., Aug. 18, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jose Lefort, 24, of 121 Ring St., Providence, for Violation of a No Contact Order. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Cranston Street and Grant Avenue. Lefort was awaiting arraignment.

WILLFUL TRESPASS

Around 1:02 p.m., Aug. 18, Cranston Police Officers arrested Wayne Brock, 73, of 30 Howard Ave., for Willful Trespass. The arrest was the result of a call for service at Tally’s, 1150 Pontiac Ave. Brock was awaiting arraignment.

WARRANT ARREST

Around 4:19 p.m., Aug 17, Cranston Police Officers arrested Eleseo Harris, 40, of 27 Zanfagna St., Apt. 2, Johnston, for an active Superior Court Bench Warrant. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of 555 Atwood Ave. Harris was transported to ACI Intake, according to Cranston Police.

DOMESTIC SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 12:54 a.m., Aug. 16, Cranston Police Officers arrested Ismael Beltre, 37, of 164 Second Ave., Apt.2 , Cranston, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a call for service at 164 Second Ave. Beltre was held overnight awaiting morning arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

EMBEZZLEMENT

At 2:53 a.m., Aug. 16, Cranston Police Officers arrested Christopher Paton, 43, of 145 Magnolia St., Apt. 6, Cranston, for Embezzlement. The arrest was the result of a previous incident and subsequent Arrest and Affidavit warrant arrest by Warwick Police Department. Paton was held overnight awaiting morning arraignment.

DRUG POSSESSION

Around 2:40 a.m., Aug. 14, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jay Waterman, 40, of 11 Coin St., Warwick, for possession of Schedule I-V Controlled Substance. The arrest was the result a traffic stop on Niantic Avenue at Pawnee Street. Waterman was awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

SIMPLE ASSAULT

Around 3:16 p.m., Aug. 13, Cranston Police Officers arrested Somayra Rivera, 43, of 27 Zone St., Apt. 6, Providence, for Simple Assault. The arrest was the result of a call for service at Dollar Tree, 819 Park Ave. Rivera was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released, according to Cranston Police.

WEAPON & DRUG CHARGES

Around 8:35 p.m., Aug. 13, Cranston Police Officers arrested Roy Santos, 39, of 276 Union Ave., Providence, for Shoplifting, Weapons other than Firearms Prohibited, and Possession of Schedule I-V Controlled Substance (less than 10 grams). The arrest was the result of a call for service at Stop and Shop, 204 Garfield Ave. Santos was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and transported to ACI Intake, according to Cranston Police.

BREAKING & ENTERING

Around 7:11 a.m., Aug. 13, Cranston Police Detectives arrested Steven A. Marrapese, 44, of 627 Cranston St., Providence, for one count of Breaking & Entering Dwelling House When Resident is on Premises and one count of Larceny (under $1,500). The arrest was the result of a previously issued Arrest & Affidavit Warrant, and subsequent pick-up by the Violent Fugitive Task Force. Marrapese was transported to 3rd District Court, according to Cranston Police.

DUI

Around 1:20 p.m., July 5, Warwick Police responded to 721 Centerville Road to assist with a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, police identified the driver of a Jeep Cherokee with front end damage as Jesus E. Matos, 31, of 19 Bailey St., Second Floor, Cranston.

According to police at the scene, Matos had “watery, mildly bloodshot eyes, (and) his pupils appeared to be more constricted than normal.” Police also say they detected the “odor of (an) alcoholic beverage” on Matos.

Police asked Matos to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Following the tests, Matos was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor/Drugs (blood alcohol content unknown, first offense) and cited for Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (first offense).

According to police, Matos also “refused to participate in a Drug Recognition Evaluation.”

NO LICENSE

Around 1:51 p.m., July 8, Warwick Police Officer Nathaniel Gray was driving north on Post Road near the intersection with Bucklin Avenue when he spotted a black 2014 Infiniti Q50 with Rhode Island plates.

According to the arrest report, Gray knew the “registered owner of the vehicle” was wanted out of Third District Court for failure to appear at a hearing.

Police identified the driver as Dange G. Ardon, 24, 735 Park Ave., Apt. 2, Cranston.

“Upon running checks, I determined that her warrant was still active and her vehicle’s registration was cancelled,” Gray wrote in the arrest report. “The vehicle ultimately took a right turn onto Bucklin Avenue, where I conducted a traffic stop.”

Ardon was arrested on the active warrant. She was charged with Driving with a Suspended License (fourth offense, a misdemeanor) and cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle with Cancelled Registration. Ardon was transported to the ACI in Cranston.

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE

Around 2:36 a.m., July 8, Warwick Police conducting a “directed patrol” of the Oakland Beach seawall in a marked cruiser spotted a silver Honda Accord in the beach parking lot.

“It should be noted that the beach was closed to the public and no one should be on this area after dark,” Warwick Police Officer Alejandro J. Martinez wrote in the arrest report.

Police checked the vehicle’s registration and found the registered owner had a suspended license, and her description matched the driver. After the vehicle drove out of the lot, police initiated a motor vehicle stop.

Police identified the driver as Melissa A. Guzman, 32, of 290 Beckwith St., Cranston.

Guzman was arrested and charged with Driving After Denial/Revocation/Suspension Certain Violations (third or subsequent offense), a misdemeanor. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

KIDNAPPING

At 8:19 a.m., Aug. 18, the Coventry Police Department received a call from Smithfield Police “advising of a possible abduction that may have occurred in Coventry,” according to Coventry Police.

Coventry Police Officers responded to a residence in Coventry to investigate the possible abduction.

“After a short investigation it was determined that the victim, an 80-year-old woman, was taken from her residence and ultimately transported to Smithfield,” where she was found by police.

As the investigation progressed, Coventry Police identified a suspect as 53-year-old Steven Henning.

Henning allegedly led police on a high-speed pursuit and was subsequently arrested by Providence Police. Coventry Police Detectives and Providence Police, as well as members from the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, interviewed Henning, according to Coventry Police.

Henning was subsequently charged with Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon in a Dwelling, 1st Degree Robbery, Assault on a Person over 60-Serious Bodily Injury, Burglary, and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.

According to Coventry Police, the victim is in the care of a local hospital at this time and will not be identified while the investigation continues.

Henning was expected to be arraigned on some charges at the Kent County Courthouse on Monday, according to Coventry Police. He “will also likely face charges from several other municipalities including Burrillville and Smithfield,” police said.

“No additional information, to include the name of the victim and victim’s address, will be given out at this time as this case is still under active investigation,” according to Coventry Police.
