Doris W. (Vallie) Genever, age 106, of Old Buttonwoods, Warwick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Warwick.  She was the wife of the late Warwick Fire Dept. Captain Albert H. Genever, who passed away on duty in 1974. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Guy C.D. Vallie and Lily G. (Marcroft) Vallie, she resided in Warwick for 80 years.  She attended Johnson & Wales College, now Johnson & Wales University. Mrs. Genever was the office manager at National Car Rental at the old terminal of T.F. Green Airport from 1960 to her retirement in 1971. She is survived by two daughters, Jane G. Drury and her husband Dr. Robert W. Drury, of Glastonbury, CT, and Susan Quaine Remick and her husband Robert A. Remick, of Warwick, six grandchildren, William Quaine, Bethany Adams, Stephen Drury and his wife Heike, Christopher Drury and his wife Heather, Rev. Jonathan Drury and his wife Jolie, and Kelly Major and her husband John; and eight great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Guy Chester Vallie. Her funeral service and burial were private.  A celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2022 at Old Buttonwoods Chapel in Warwick.
