The Warwick Continental American 10-year-old All-Stars remained alive in the state bracket, going 1-1 in their first two games.

WCA fell to Cumberland 5-2 in the opening round. Joey Rotz and Landon Engstrom drove in the team’s runs, while Engstrom pitched 3 1/3 innings and racked up seven strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs. Dexter Fernandes also recorded three strikeouts and no earned runs in 2 2/3 innings of work.

WCA bounced back to beat Rumford 3-1 the following game. Rotz and Nico Gianfranceso knocked in runs, while Cody Banach and Teddy Mackowitz combined for no earned runs, one hit and eight strikeouts on the mound.

WCA took on Cumberland on Wednesday night, but the results were unavailable at press time.
