One suspect is in custody after a burglary at the Chapel View Gamestop in Cranston. Police say the smash and grab team also struck in Warwick and North Kingstown.

Cranston police are investigating the early morning break-in spree that started at 1:42 a.m., July 29, when they were notified of an alarm at Gamestop, 1000 Chapel View Boulevard, Suite 112. The alarm detected “glass breakage.”

“Upon arrival Officers confirmed the breakage of glass and burglary of the gaming store,” according to Cranston Police Department Spokesman Maj. Todd Patalano. “Undisclosed items were taken by the suspects. Shortly thereafter Warwick PD reported varies breaks in their city. Next, North Kingstown PD reported they were responding to a break in progress.”

Police quickly linked the multiple incidents.

“A vehicle pursuit of the suspects and crash of the vehicle occurred during the North Kingstown break,” Patalano said early Saturday, Aug. 3. “After crashing one subject fled and another person was arrested in North Kingstown. Cranston Detectives are working with North Kingstown to further this investigation. We hope to have a resolution to this case in the next few weeks and believe the people involved in North Kingstown are persons of interest and may be responsible.”
