Warwick Police Department wished “Congratulations” to their “newly promoted Sergeants — Kevin Warren, Russell Brown, and Sara Goes, after being sworn in at City Hall” earlier this week by Mayor Frank Picozzi.

The Warwick Police Athletic League (PAL) also announced the promotion of Officer Brown to Sgt. Brown.

“Russ will be leaving his role as PAL officer and returning to the Patrol Division,” accorinng to a post on WPD PAL social media. “However, he is NOT finished with PAL. Russ will continue as a member of our board; be involved in baseball; revitalizing our boxing program; and most importantly, remain involved in our Mentor program. Congratulations Russ!”

The PAL’s new officer is Ryan Shibley, who according to the PAL, “has been involved with community policing for about two years and a PAL basketball coach.”
