To the Editor,

Name one worthwhile thing Kamala Harris has accomplished as Vice President. That’s my challenge to state Senator Mark McKenney.

In his recent op-ed, Senator McKenney tells us that he had “long been a supporter of President Biden”. That support shifted suddenly when Biden was shoved out as the Democrats’ presidential nominee.

Senator Mckenney didn’t object when candidate Biden got canned in a coup carried out by Democrat Party elites.(“How I ended up as a delegate to the 2024 Democratic Convention”, Aug 15) Instead, he abruptly abandon Biden.

Now he is “proud to vote” for Kamala Harris. But, curiously, he doesn’t specify exactly what there is to be proud about.

Is Senator McKenney proud of the shameful 2021 Biden/Harris surrender in Afghanistan? Thirteen American service members, and one hundred seventy Afghan civilians, needlessly lost their lives due to the chaotic Biden/Harris withdrawal plan.

The weakness Joe Biden and Kamala Harris displayed in that military debacle is what prompted Vladimir Putin to start the war in Ukraine which has now claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.

And what about the Biden/Harris policy of funneling billions of dollars to Iran? That money allowed Iran to fund the terrorist group Hamas. On October 7, 2023, Hamas members slaughtered more than a thousand innocent Israelis.

Joe and Kamala’s calamitous foreign policy failures caused the ongoing war in Gaza. Is that something to be proud about, Senator McKenney?

Here at home, Biden/Harris socialist economic policies have caused unprecedented inflation. Higher prices make it hard for Rhode Island families to afford gas and groceries and just about everything else. Is Senator McKenney “energized and enthusiastic” about that outcome?

Lastly, I would like to know if Senator McKenney supports the open border policies endorsed by Border Czar Kamala Harris? Her reckless policies have brought millions of illegal immigrants into our country, some of whom are criminals with a predilection for raping and murdering our young women.

I hope Senator McKenney enjoyed his Ferris Bueller-style escape to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. But now that he is back home, I challenge him to address, in a serious and sensible manner, the hard questions that I have posed to him regarding the disastrous Biden/Harris record. He may find something there to admire and be proud of, but I sure don’t.
