Dr. Kathleen S. Webster (Cady), 70, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer, on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Nancy Cady (McGuirk). Kathleen is survived by her nieces and nephews Alisha Cady, Christopher Cady and Shannon Cady; as well as her aunt and uncle Donna and Curt Tietze. She is predeceased by her siblings Arthur Cady, Daniel Cady and Richard Cady.

A vibrant personality who was loved by everyone she met, Dr. Kate was a professor at the University of Rhode Island, working in the Department of Psychology for many years. Her focus was teaching required courses for undergraduate students in quantitative statistics and introduction to psychological research methods. She also had a passion for mentoring which saw her become advisor to nearly 40 undergraduate students. When she was not helping her students achieve their goals, you’d find her on the back of the boat listening to Jimmy Buffet with her dog Homer, who is going to miss her dearly. In addition, she leaves behind her closest friends, colleges & students who will always remember her.

A celebration of life will take place in the future and will be open to all who loved her.
