To the Editor,
On March 20, Senator Bernie Sanders stood before the Senate chamber and voiced his alarm towards the current barbaric war in Gaza which will result in the death by starvation of many thousands of innocent men, women and children.
He said that the US is complicit in this war and, to my knowledge, is the only one of 535 members in Congress who has called for an immediate cessation of all US military aid to Israel. Congressional Christians, like Mike Johnson and Dan Jordan, along with the rest of the Congress, have willingly and enthusiastically voted for more military aid to Israel, even though we have no formal alliance with that country.
It is as if they had no conscience towards the suffering and famine that has happened and is about to happen in Gaza as a result of our military aid to Israel. The Almighty has seen this before in Jerusalem and “will recompense their way upon their head” sparing those who “sigh and cry for all the abominations that be done in their midst”, Ezekiel 9.
