THE BRICKLAYER
* * *
(Violent Spy Flick)

Aaron Eckhart stars as Steve Vail, a CIA spy sent to Greece to eliminate a bad guy at a time when the Greek people and press were anti American.

A naïve female CIA employee (Nina Dobrev), unaware of Vail’s unorthodox methods, is sent along with him.

The movie is one big violent chase scene with graphic hand-to-hand battles, shootouts and car chases galore.

Our hero comes out with a few scratches.

It’s a spy vs. spy adventure, with untrustworthy moles, politicians and CIA folks all creating a who-can-you-trust scenario.

It doesn’t make much sense, but it is exciting.

MEGAN LEAVEY
* * *
(A Woman and Her Dog)

The true story of Megan Leavey, (Kate Mara)  a troubled young woman from a broken home who joins the Marines to get away, messes up at Camp Pendleton, gets assigned to cleaning dog poop and works hard to become a trainer for a bomb-detecting dog.

Megan and Rex are both rebels who eventually bond and are sent to Iraq, where both become heroes.

Rex saves Megan and they both save other marines. Separated when they both are injured, Megan chooses not to reenlist, but Rex is sent back to the Marines.

Megan fights for Rex, who is labeled unadoptable.

Keep the tissue box close at hand.
