Curbside delivery at Mohr Library

Mohr Library and many other Rhode Island libraries are offering you the chance to get materials that are available at their individual locations. Eventually you will be able to place holds and have items delivered between locations as well.

To take advantage of curbside delivery in Johnston, please call or email. You will be connected with someone who can help explain their procedure, which conforms to recommendations from the greater library community. Staff will also help you to identify things you would like and will be familiar with alternatives in print or electronic form.

Please bear in mind that they are operating with limited staff and might have to take down your contact information so they can call you back shortly.

They will ask you to limit your selections for curbside to five items during this first phase of this effort.

When you drive up, or walk up, please have your mobile phone if you have one and library card number and call them.

Otherwise, please knock. Staff will bring your package out and set it on a table outside, or just inside our door if the weather is bad. We ask that you wait from a distance while your things are brought out, even though they will be happy to see you. Staff will be wearing masks and gloves for your protection.

This plan is based on recommendations from the Rhode Island Department of Health, which states that books are believed to present a low risk for transmission of viruses.

Please, email (info@mohrlibrary.org) or call (401-231-4980) to reserve up to five items which are currently available at the library. They will be available for contactless pickup 24 hours later. Sports canceled

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, CDC recommendations and Gov. Raimondo’s recent announcement, the Johnston Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all T-ball and track programs.

Just a reminder that the parking lot and walking track at Johnston War Memorial Park are open. Please note that the bathrooms, playground, and office will remain close. Please make use of masks and social distancing.

Just like the month of May, no other month begins on the same day as June. This is also the month with the longest daylight hours of the year. SunriseScoops@aol.com.
