To the Editor,
As we reflect on the recently concluded session of the General Assembly, it is necessary for us to draw attention to the leaders who work alongside us day after day to ensure that the interests of neighborhood small businesses are being championed.
This week, we are throwing our spotlight on Speaker of the House Joe Shekarchi. We would like Rhode Islanders to know that Speaker Shekarchi shares our view that a vibrant, pro-business economic environment is the path to prosperity for all Rhode Islanders --- in every neighborhood from every community. For sure, there are difficult issues that come before the General Assembly. We thank the hundreds of legislators who join us at our economic outlook briefings each year to understand how new laws would either help or hinder our small business economy.
Speaker Shekarchi has always studied hard and participated in these policy events. We energetically support his continued leadership as Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2023.
