Drug Take Back Event
Oct. 28 – 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Cranston Police Department, Cranston Substance Abuse Task Force and our RSVP Division are hosting this event. The Substance abuse Task Force will be available to help with the proper disposal of medication. Acceptable items: unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions, over the counter medications and inhalers. Items not accepted: sharps, liquid medications and insulin vials.
Halloween Special
“Costume Contest”
Oct. 31 – 11 a.m.
You are invited to join us before lunch in the Dining Room for a Costume Contest. A prize will be awarded to the member with the “best costume” -- our Senior Center staff will be the judges. Should be loads of fun!
Get AHEAD of Alzheimer’s Disease!
Nov. 1 – 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital is looking for people ages 55 to 80 who do not yet have symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease, but who are interested in participating in a clinical trial aiming to prevent memory problems in the future. To learn more about this AHEAD Study, join us at the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center for an informational presentation.
Skin Conditions in Older Adults
Nov. 2 – 10 a.m.
URI Pharmacy Outreach Program
An overview of various skin conditions such as, dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Treatments including prescription and over the counter medications currently being used to treat these conditions will be discussed.
Intermediate Ballroom Night Class
Wednesdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Four week series for $40 per person

URI SNAP Outreach Clinic
“Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program”
Nov. 3 – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
If you have questions about your SNAP application, wish to apply for SNAP or have received correspondence from the SNAP office that you do not understand, then this clinic is for you! First come first served.
Vision Group
Nov. 4 – 10 a.m.
Facilitators: IN-SIGHT Staff
Are you living with a visual impairment or supporting someone who is? Staff member from IN-SIGHT will provide information about the available resources to help people adapt to vision loss and answer any questions you might have. The VISION Group is also an excellent opportunity to share your story, hear about other people’s journeys with vision loss and exchange information and support.
