Sarah Dyer Barnes goes ‘DStrong’

Dorian Murray, the eight-year-old Westerly boy who passed away this week after receiving hospice care at his home for a rare pediatric cancer, was honored at Sarah Dyer Barnes Elementary School in Johnston on March 4. Students who donated $1 to the Dorian Murray fund were allowed to dress as a superhero for the day. Teachers bought T-shirts that read, “I’m a teacher, what’s your super power?” Mayor Joseph Polisena visited each classroom to thank the students and teachers for their participation. (Text by Meri R.
