Nick Beaudoin, who was overseeing the rapid test site at the Stop & Shop Plaza on Greenwich Avenue Friday said the volume of people taking covid tests daily hasn’t diminished even though the number of people who have been vaccinated keeps increasing. Beaudoin works for Smart Bio Tech, the company contracted to take over the rapid test site from the RI National Guard. It is also operating sites in Cranston and Fall River and is opening another in Barrington. Beaudoin said between 200 and 300 tests are self-administered daily in Warwick It’s about a 15-minute wait for results. With the exception of the early morning hours when employees such as those from FedEx are looking to be tested and there is a line, taking the test is a matter of a couple of minutes. Beaudoin said a couple of people who have been vaccinated have tested positive. In instances where people have covid symptoms but test negative they are given a PCR test, which is more accurate. Results for PCR tests take two to three days.
