Celebrating 60 years Paul F. Kelley and Elizabeth A. Gonwa met at the USO in Chicago when he was a Navy enlisted man attending a school at USN Training Center (USNTC), Great Lakes, Illinois and she was a student at Mundaline College in Chicago. She was a volunteer at the USO. They were married on June 24, 1961 at St. Peter Canisius Church in Chicago. Paul served 13 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service and went on to become a consumer electronic technician and electronics teacher/consultant. He is an active member of the Warwick Veterans Council and is chaplain of the USSVI Rhode Island Base. Before retirement, Elizabeth taught school at John Wickes, Robertson and Lippitt Schools. The Warwick couple has four children, Arthur W., Gregory G., Mary C. Mason, and Christine A. Kelley and eight grandchildren. They were feted this spring by family and friends at a May 23 party.
