Heavy rains early last Thursday, the remnants of Hurricane Ida, dumped upwards of 9.8 inches of rain on some parts of the state. Flooding in Warwick was comparatively minor. Park School was forced to close because of a flooded parking lot. Patricia Cousineau, director of elementary eduaction, was stationed outside the school to inform teachers and students who hadn’t learned of the closure from email. And Lakeshore Drive was transformed into a river although it didn’t stop Cooper DiFore and his bike as photographed by Shana Willis.
