Gary B. Robberson Sr. died March 3, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Maureen Z. (McGinn) Robberson. He was a son of the late Elbert L. Robberson and Virginia G. (Nevins) Taylor and stepson of the late Earl Taylor. Gary joined the Marines in 1954 and was a 3rd Battalion Buck Sergeant. He held the range record out of 10,000 Marines for the .45 caliber number one marksman in Okinawa, Japan. He was a retired foreman and member of Local 94 Pile Driver/Mill Wright Union, a job he truly loved. With a love of the water and boating, he competed yearly in the Rhode Island/Pt. Judith Tuna tournament. He was a member of the East Greenwich Firemen’s Club and the American Legion in Mederia Beach, Fla. He was the father of Gary B. Robberson Jr. and his wife, Elina, Suzanne Wendoloski and her husband, Ralph, and Eileen S. McGiveney and her husband, Martin; and grandfather of Nathan, Jason, Derek and Sean. He was the grandfather of the late Paige Robberson and brother of the late Elbert and Lynn Robberson. A visitation was held March 7 in Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
