Rhode Island State Police arrest 19 for DUI over Fourth of July holiday weekend

State police took 19 allegedly intoxicated drivers into custody over the Fourth of July weekend.

Col. James M. Manni, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety, announced Wednesday “that as a result of our efforts to continue to make our highways safer, members of the Rhode Island State Police … arrested 19 subjects for Driving While Intoxicated during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.”

Only three of the 19 gave police permission to perform a test to determine the driver’s blood alcohol level, yielding 16 charges of Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The following individuals were arrested for DUI (Driving Under the Influence).

  • Harold Lee III, age 33, of 12 Fairland St., Roxbury, Mass. was charged with DUI (1st Offense) with a blood alcohol level (BAC) of 0.150/0.152.
  • Ogunsola Ogutuga, 42, of 182 Second Ave., Woonsocket, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Victor C. Obianwu, 31, of 205 Franklin St, Bristol, was charged with DUI (1st Offense), Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty, and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Joshua R. Bartis, 33, of 100 Whipple Ave., Warwick, was charged with DUI (1st Offense), Driving with a Suspended License (3rd Offense), and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Kayleigh A. Lozito, 35, of 92 Evergreen Drive, East Providence was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Heather M. Xavier, 21, of 67 Garvin St., Cumberland, was charged with DUI (1st Offense), Reckless Driving, and Failure to Stop for an Accident Resulting in Damage to the Vehicle. (Her BAC was unknown.)
  • Jeffrey A. Dirocco, 25, of 26 Linwood Ave., North Providence, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Byron Lenus, 40, of 126 Cowden St., Central Falls, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) with a BAC of 0.270/0.270.
  • Scundino M. Hernandez, 48, of 71A Narragansett Ave., Narragansett, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Sydney M. Matteson, 26, of 36 Lafayette Drive, East Greenwich, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Lisa A. Zonak, 38, of 237 Pine St., Leicester, Mass., was charged with DUI (1st Offense) with a BAC of 0.207/0.194.
  • Alejandro Sam Chach, 32, of 197 Nash Road, New Bedford, Mass., was charged with DUI (1st Offense), Driving Without a License and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Robert E. Singleton, 48, of 83 Barstow St., Providence, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Otoniel J. Mestres, 25, of 855 Broad St., Central Falls, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Jorge A. Galdamez Henriquez, 29, of 27 Somerset St., Providence, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Cameron J. Young, 21, of 999 Read St, Attleboro, Mass. was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Mikail D. Matthews, 28, of 1314 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) with a BAC of 0.153/0.160, and Driving with a Suspended License (3rd Offense).
  • Felix A Colon, 27, of 823 Manton Ave., Providence, was charged with DUI (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
  • Manuel Chitic Morales, 51, of 160 Dora St., Providence, was charged with Driving Under the Influence (1st Offense), Driving without a License (2nd Offense) and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test (BAC unknown).
