Nick Grasso, Republican candidate for House of Representatives, District 43-Johnston, campaigned with Ashley Kalus, candidate for RI Governor, at the Annual Johnston Apple Festival on Sunday, Sept. 11.
Both Grasso and Kalus spent the morning meeting with voters, shaking hands and listening to concerns, according to a press release from the Johnston Republican Town Committee (JRTC). The main concerns of voters are the Rhode Island economy, the cost of energy and the over-development of Johnston.
“Clearly the voters of Johnston and Rhode Island are fed up with being over taxed, and ignored by the Democrats on Smith Hill and Town Hall,” Grasso said. “The working class cannot afford to pay the freight for every social program dreamt up by the Democrats. People can’t afford to pay their energy bills or buy food because of runaway inflation. I pledge to listen to the concerns of everyone in both my district and all of Johnston. Unlike my opponent, I will never vote for the politically correct solution, I will always vote for the solution that’s right for Johnston.”
Members of the Johnston Republican Town Committee were joined at Apple Fest by members from the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) – RI Chapter.
