At the end of January, Regina Tracy will retire as Senior Director of Advancement & Development and transition at Bishop Hendricken High School into a part-time consultancy for the office through April 30, 2022. Peter Thomas, a 1986 Hendricken grad, will take over as Acting Senior Director of Advancement & Development beginning Jan. 31.
"Bishop Hendricken is truly indebted to Regina for the critical leadership she has provided for the past three years," said Fr. Robert Marciano, school president and pastor of St. Kevin Church. "The strategic and impactful work she has accomplished with her team, alumni, donors, friends, and benefactors of Bishop Hendricken ensures that we can continue to afford young men the full Hendricken experience, and therefore advance our school's mission, for years to come. We're privileged to have had her finish her storied career at 2615 Warwick Avenue, and we wish her nothing but the best in retirement."
"I love educational fundraising and have been blessed to have spent my career at truly remarkable institutions, including my last three years at Bishop Hendricken," Tracy said. "It has been a real privilege to witness the power and devotion of the Hawk brotherhood."
Tracy spent 40 years in non-profit work with the last 25 in university development, including the University of Maryland and Smith College most recently. Under her leadership, Bishop Hendricken doubled #GivingTuesday revenues and realized its largest single donation which created the Dr. Frank A. DeLucia '70 Leadership Center for Excellence, and when fully funded, a scholarship endowment for Leadership Academy students.
Thomas, current Director of Institutional Advancement, will lead the Advancement & Development Office on an interim basis as the President's Office begins a formal search for the next position-holder. Thomas has been working in Catholic education fundraising for 16 years and began at Bishop Hendricken in 2007. Prior to Hendricken, Thomas worked at Bishop Feehan High School in Massachusetts.
