PJ's Pub announces permanent closure

Posted

PJ’s Pub in Johnston cited an “unsuccessful lease negotiation” as the reason for its permanent closure in a Facebook post on Monday morning.

The post drew more than 400 comments and nearly 500 shares. Customers shared memories in the comments section, even garnering a reaction from PJ’s after the overwhelmingly positive response.

“Thank you to all for your concern and suggestions!” PJ’s Pub wrote. “We have a great relationship with our landlord, and have had a wonderful six years here! This was simply a matter that we could not come to a mutual agreement on and was best for both parties.”

The initial post noted that PJ’s was “grateful” for its six years at 198 Putnam Pike, encouraging patrons to visit the Cranston location at 1139 Pontiac Ave. There was also a note to “stay tuned” for the company’s next project.

“Thank you for making this place feel like home,” one commenter said. “Best of luck and looking forward to what the future holds for PJs pub.”

Others said they “had so much fun dancing” at PJ’s, while others said it was “the perfect size” and never felt crowded.
