SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT TOY: Cranston West seniors Hailey DeCosta, 17, (left) and her classmate Hailey Davis sift through toys looking for the perfect one for their furry friends. DeCosta has a three-month-old mini goldendoodle named Mochi and Davis has an eight-year-old rescued St. Bernard.

DONATIONS GLADLY ACCEPTED: Dawn McPhillips from the Friends of Homeless Animals Inc., Rhode Island was one of many groups who donated supplies for Saturday’s giveaway. Cages were one of the items donated.

PLENTIFUL PICK: During Cranston Animal Shelter’s pet supply giveaway, shoppers could select items from a variety of dog food, treats and toys.

Cranston Animal Shelter had many visitors Sept. 17 for a pet supply giveaway. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc., Vintage Pets, Snort Rescue and Little Rhody Rescue donated supplies to the animal shelter for the event.
