See It at the Movies

(Pixar scores another kid's movie)

Pixar knows how to make good movies for kids. Their latest animated film has two heroes, Ian (voice of Tim Holland) and his older brother Barley (Chris Pratt) using a bit of magic to fight off dragons and ogres as they try to make a connection with their dead father. When they use their magic to conjure up their father, they succeed in restoring him from the waist down, with less than a day to complete the task.

There are some good messages, lots of adventures, fantastic creatures, and young characters that kids can relate to. The animation and color are first class, and the action will keep the kids interested for an hour and 40 minutes. You may wish to drop them off and go to the mall.

Rated PG, with nothing to worry about.
