Gloria M. (Fortin) Magner, age 96, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John T. Magner Jr. for 64 years. Born in Providence RI, the daughter of the late Leon and Lillian (LaValle) Fortin.

She was a faithful communicant of St. Catherine Church in Apponaug. Raising her children was her proudest accomplishment.  Gloria was a strong selfless woman, she inspired her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with them at the holidays, birthdays and other family gatherings. Additionally, she was an amazing seamstress and talented artist. She was employed for many years in bookkeeping and accounting. 

She is survived by her children  Kerry A. Oaks (Daniel) of Florida, John T. Magner (Maryellen Sullivan) of Hopkinton, Daniel P. Magner (Sandra) of West Warwick, Mary E. Nuzzo (James) of Franklin, MA, Patricia M. Magner of Jamestown, Elizabeth J. Moreau (Ronald) of Warwick, and Jacqueline M. Magner (Michael Keegan) of Warwick; ten grandchildren, John O'Connell, John Magner, Caitlin Magner, Rebecca Magner, Nicole Cone, Daniel Magner, Erin Nuzzo, Sean Nuzzo, Ronald Moreau, and Kara Moreau; and eight great-grandchildren . She was the mother of the late Thomas J. Magner.  She is survived by her two sisters, Joan Flanagan of Warwick and Diane Aldred of North Kingstown. She was the sister of the late Richard Fortin, Robert Fortin, Normand Fortin and Rene Fortin. 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 9-11AM at Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave, Spring Green, Warwick, R.I. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM to be held at St. Rose & Clement Parish, 111 Long Street, Warwick R.I.   Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich, in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to VNA Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  stjude.org/donatetoday
