Bernard “Bernie” P. Lynch, age 74, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Cambridge Hospital in Massachusetts.  He was the husband of the late Linda M. (Ferns) Lynch to whom he shared 44 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2018.  Born in Providence, he was the 2nd youngest of nine children born to the late John L. and Anna A. (McKenna) Lynch. He was a devoted employee of Narragansett Electric and National Grid in Rhode Island and National Grid and its successor companies in New Hampshire for over 50 years.

Bernie was a patriot and proud U.S. Veteran who honorably served with the Army National Guard for over 20 years. A self-proclaimed ‘Gearhead’, Bernie loved all things cars, whether it be collecting them, tinkering on them with his buddies or attending car shows.  His family remembers him as a hard worker who sometimes worked multiple jobs to provide for his family, an avid gardener who took great pride in his yard and a man born with a propensity to nap anywhere.  Most importantly, his genuine kindness led him to make a friend everywhere he went.

Bernie was the devoted father of Jaimie Calouro (husband, Nathan), Kasey Vivenzio (husband, Nicholas), Bernadette MacArthur (husband, Matthew) and Kelly Konyha (husband, Gregory); cherished ‘Pa’ of Nate, Emily, Fiona, Finley, Micah, Hunter, Jack, Luke and Beau.  He was the brother of Dorothy ‘Dot’ Frigault, Kathy McLaughlin, Christine Tracy and Cecilia ‘Cheechee’ Kelly.  He was predeceased by his siblings Jack Lynch, Marianne Lariviere, William ‘Mickey’ Lynch, Thomas Lynch and his cousin Ed Brodeur who lived with Bernie and his family throughout his childhood.  Bernie is also survived by many godchildren, nieces, nephews and his best friend and brother-in-law Bob Kelly, all of whom will miss him tremendously.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 9am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Paul Church, Cranston.  Burial will be private.  A Visitation will be held at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 will be greatly appreciated.
