RECOGNIZING SACRIFICE: Before seniors started eating, volunteer Rita Penzo spoke of those who sacrificed their lives followed by a round of applause for first responders present at the center for lunch.

LET’S EAT: Deputy Chief Steven Santilli, Deputy Chief Jim Woyciechowski, Fire Chief Jim Warren and EMS Director Rick Greene get ready for their meal at the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center to recognize first responders who lost their lives because of 9/11.

SUPPORTING OTHERS: Seniors gathered for the 9/11 recognition event on Friday.

EXPLAINING THEIR ROLES: Fire Chief Jim Warren answers a senior’s question on the department’s role in last week’s flood. The firefighters also took questions on smoke detectors or carbon monoxide alarms.
