Matt Hayden couldn’t let all of that heavy wet snow go to waste in front of his aunt’s home on West Shore Road, so he decided to send a message to a friend. Her birthday was coming up and he imagined she might take notice, maybe even guess who had gone to such lengths. The project became a herculean effort. Neither the weather nor the temperature was always cooperative, but Matt persisted. This picture was taken Sunday afternoon. The finishing touches to the creation included painting the words purple and sculpturing a nearby pile of snow into a cake. How could she miss it? (Warwick Beacon photo)
