Grammy-winning pianist to perform at Vets


There haven’t been too many world-renowned artists playing Providence in the past year, but you can catch one of the best this Saturday at 5 p.m.

Emanuel Ax, a Grammy Award-winning pianist, will join conductor Bramwell Tovey and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, where Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony will be featured.

This is a special Gala Celebration concert, the last before the 2021-22 season opens on Saturday, Sept. 18, with Tovey leading the orchestra in Brahms’s Symphony No. 4. (Emperor).

Also on the program is Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture” and Brahms’s “Music for the Royal Musicians.”
