Michael P. Forde 64, (Capt. WPD Ret.) passed away on August 9, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband of Cindy (Nikola) Forde, and were married 39 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John J. and Marie E. (Donahue) Forde.
Besides his wife, Mike was the father of Michael, Matthew, and Nicole Forde, the brother of Steven Forde, Daniel Forde, and Karen Couch. He is survived by his 8 nieces and nephews.
Mike was a 30+ year veteran of the Warwick Police Department, serving in the Patrol Division, Administrative Services Division, Community Services Division/Community Policing, and Detective Division. He was a member of the SWAT Team for 13 years.
Visitation will be held on August 15, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and are asked to go directly to church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
