Jennifer Ramage and some students at Johnston’s Early Childhood Center could be on their way to a record-setting year for the annual Feinstein Good Deeds Program.
“Due to the pandemic,” as Ramage – who doubles as an ECC teacher and Feinstein Program coordinator – told parents the other day, “we cannot have visitors in the building. However, we held our first event of the new school year and it was a special success.”
The ECC, in fact, did not let the coronavirus stop students from celebrating the school’s annual “Pink Out,” which was held a couple weeks ago and raises money for breast cancer.
“Once again, our students and staff participated and the event looked much different than years past; some students were wearing masks while others children worked from home with their computer screen in pink.”
She said “this year we did not collect money in the school and won’t know exactly the total money raised,” while adding, “the ECC staff and students were encouraged to make a donation and mail it to The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Suite 201, 249 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
“We hope our good deed inspired people to donate to this worthy cause,” said Ramage. Pictured are some of the students who participated in the ECC’s Pink Out.
