Whether a seasoned artist or a youngster discovering the joy of experimenting with colors and shapes The Warwick Center for the Arts summer program offers an opportunity to celebrate creativity. Currently on display id the Side By Side invitational curated group art show through Aug. 20. The show is free and the gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Don’t be fooled if the front door facing Post Road is locked yet the flag outside declares it is open. Try the side door facing City Hall and you’re likely to walk in to a session of the center’s summer camp classes. And who’s to say you won’t pick up a few pointers from a bunch of enthusiastic campers. Winners in the Side By Side show are: 1st prize, Robin Spears, Quintuple Piercing Points; 2nd prize, Cynthia Shorris, Angell Street and 3rd prize, Mikala Jackson, Two Spirits. Honorable Mention is Hector Aquino, Woman's Face and Director's Choice Award is Hebe-Tee-Tse Lee, Squash Blossom. (Warwick Beacon photos)
