Following a brief period of declining health, our family matriarch, Ann (Moubarak) Badway, 93, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence. A woman of great faith, a wonderful homemaker, and a loyal spouse, Ann and her beloved late husband, prominent pharmacist Elias “Louie” Badway, were long-time Johnston residents and parishioners of St. George Maronite Parish in Cranston.

Born on August 6,1930 in Kfarsghab, Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Antoun and Fafrounia (Samia) Moubarak. She is survived by her children, Regina and Joaquin “Jack” Badway, both of Johnston; grandchildren, Christiane & Elias; and daughter-in-law, Jeanine Ghazaz Badway. Ann was predeceased by her son, Abraham “Abie” Badway, and her siblings: Reverend Youakim, Augustin, Isaac, Therese, Jack, and Charles Moubarak.

Ann’s life was devoted to family, faith, and home.  She was a Past President of St. George’s Holy Rosary Sodality and worked tirelessly for many Parish activities throughout her lifetime. A true patriot, she was fiercely proud of her Lebanese heritage and traditions, and provided inspiration, encouragement, and loving kindness to all whose paths she crossed, endearing herself to many.  In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed the company of others and an occasional trip to the casino. May she now be embraced by our loving God and rest in eternal peace!

Ann’s Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. George Maronite Church on Thursday, April 18th, followed by burial in the family plot at St. Ann’s Cemetery (Section 38, Lot 49), Cranston, RI. Arrangements were entrusted to the Berarducci Funeral Home in Providence.
