A thank you to the Briarcliffe Staff

You are Greatly Appreciated

As we continue to live through these times of uncertainty and uneasiness, all are reminded to be extra vigilant when protecting themselves and their loved ones, especially those among us who are most at risk.  Many are looking to trusted sources for information, reassurance and guidance as we navigate these uncharted waters.

For those individuals who have loved ones living in the Memory Care Assisted Living or the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility on the Briarcliffe campus, this ongoing source of information, reassurance, and guidance has been steadfast.  Right from the beginning, the professional leadership staff at Briarcliffe put into place strict measures to safeguard the health and well-being of Briarcliffe’s many residents. The caregivers at Briarcliffe are not unfamiliar with implementing infection control measures, but in these unique circumstances, they know that no detail can be overlooked or left unattended.

According to Briarcliffe President, Akshay Talwar: “The staff here at Briarcliffe have done everything possible to care for the vulnerable population they serve so faithfully every day.  In many ways, they have gone well beyond expectation.  To minimize the risk to our residents of the coronavirus being brought into the facility from the outside, Briarcliffe voluntarily implemented a ‘Level Three’ screening process early on.  This level of screening is the highest level of screening allowed under Rhode Island Health Department guidelines.  This intensive screening is in place to protect both the residents and the many employees who serve in this close-knit community.”

Akshay adds: “Working long hours, these dedicated professionals are giving selflessly of themselves.  It takes a huge collaborative effort to make life as ‘normal’ as possible for the many residents here who are either in skilled, long-term care or assisted living at Briarcliffe.”

Words of gratitude from Talwar: “Briarcliffe would like to take a moment to say that, even during these trying times, we are truly fortunate for the overwhelming support, assistance and understanding that we have received from our staff and our families. We are grateful for everyone’s patience and will continue to take the necessary steps to do what’s best for our residents and our staff moving forward.”

Akshay and the hard-working corps of caregivers at Briarcliffe are happy to announce that things are slowly returning to some sense of normalcy at this busy residence.  Not only are new residents encouraged to take a virtual tour of the property but some of the activities that make Briarcliffe so special are resuming, including the entertainment.  The ever-popular entertainers perform outside while the music is piped into the building where socially-distant residents can enjoy the music.  It is a “win-win” situation until we can be together once again.
