The Promise of Spring marks the West Bay Chorale’s first in-person concert this year. After offering an online concert in December, the singers are ready to perform live and engage with the community.
The theme of the concert is hope. Music being performed includes John Rutter’s “For the Beauty of the Earth,” “Imagine” by John Lennon, ”The Road Not Taken” by Randall Thompson and “We Rise Again” by Leon Dubinsky.
The Chorale, under the direction of Eric W. Van Dervort, will be joined by Amanda Santo – soprano soloist – and accompanied by Philip P. Martorella. Amanda is the former Artistic Director of West Bay Chorale. The audience will be invited to sing “Let There Be Peace on Earth” and “Prayer for Ukraine.” Donations at the door will be sent to Direct Relief for Ukraine (www.directrelief.org)
The event will take place Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at St. Kevin Church (333 Sandy Lane, Warwick). Tickets for adults are $15 and $6 for students. (We will follow current state guidelines for masking.) www.westbaychorale.org and on Facebook.
