A vigil to honor victims and survivors of domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month was held Tuesday night at the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center. Those attending were invited to attend a community tabling hour from 6 to 7 p.m. consisted of tables from Cranston Health Equity Zone, Warwick Health Equity Zone, Westbay Community Action, CCAP, and RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Warwick Police were also present and selling DV patches, as all funds from the patches will be donated to EBCC. The speaking segment of the vigil opened by Bonnie Arpin, EBCC board president. SOAR speaker Kathy McCormick then shared her story, followed by a poem from Deb Ferrante. The vigil concluded with a mantra reading, in which the crowd participated and read out loud the Bill of Rights that is featured in this photo. (Photo courtesy of EBCC)
