Yes, the era of spell check has long been here, but it hasn’t eclipsed the spelling bee. Well, not at Veterans Middle School anyhow. School winners this year were Reeve Rapson, grade 8; Cienna McNamara, grade 7 and Autumn Cardarelli, grade 6. The school champion was Cienna McNamara who went on to compete in the State Spelling Bee where she finished in 11th place.
