Travelers rank Green Airport 4th best in nation

Condé Nast Traveler has announced the results of its 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards with Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport recognized as the “4th Best Airport in the United States” based on traveler rankings and reviews. This is the third consecutive year that Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport has been named as one of the nation’s Top Five Airports by Condé Nast Traveler, improving to 4th place after 2021’s Top Five ranking. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and considered the most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry.

“It is truly a privilege to serve all those who travel through Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport who have honored us with their help in achieving this recognition,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President, and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) in a release. “We are thankful for the support of our community and we will continue our efforts to be recognized as the best airport in the nation.”

 Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD is considered a convenient and low-cost international gateway to New England, Well known for ease of traveler access, affordable parking and short lines, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport attracts passengers from nearby Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut.

 According to Condé Nast Traveler, “Rhode Island’s T. F. Green International Airport gets kudos from fliers as a “great little airport” that’s easy to reach and to navigate: More than two-thirds of New England’s population lives within a 75-minute drive of the Providence airfield. Long favored by budget carriers as a less expensive alternative to Boston Logan, the airport has been growing steadily in recent years and is well-positioned to benefit from a resurgence in domestic air travel. Next year, in fact, PVD will become a hub for the new Breeze Airways, with 44 weekly departures expected by 2027.”

 “This award brings significant national recognition to Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport and affirms our status as a preferred travel and tourism destination as our state continues in our economic recovery,” said RIAC Board Chair Jonathan N.
