Toll Gate High School has scheduled an Honors Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, April 28. This recognition ceremony will include Rhode Island Honor Society, Modern World Language Honor Society and National Honor Society. The ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Toll Gate High School Auditorium.
Due to COVID restrictions only students can attend this socially distanced ceremony. The ceremony will be live streamed on YouTube for parents, guardians, friends and family to watch.
Eighty-Six seniors will be introduced and inducted into the RI Honor Society. To qualify for the Rhode Island Honor Society students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 throughout high school.
In addition, Jessica Joubert will be introduced as Valedictorian, Megan Merrow as Salutatorian and Cassidy Pepin as Essayist. Special awards will also be presented during this ceremony.
Eighty-nine (89) students will be inducted and recognized during the Modern World Language Honor Society ceremony.
To qualify for the French, Italian and Spanish Honor Societies, these students have met the following guidelines for membership: be in the junior or senior year of studies meet high academic requirements for four (completed semesters in the language, demonstrate good character within our school community and complete an oral interview in their language of study.
Nineteen students will be recognized as members of the French Honor Society, sixty-one students will be recognized as members of the Spanish Honor Society, nine students will be recognized as members of the Italian Honor Society.
Seventy-Seven students will be inducted and recognized during the National Honor Society ceremony.
To qualify for the National Honor Society students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.70 throughout high school. Seniors must also complete 20 hours of community service. Thirty-eight seniors will be recognized and inducted. Thirty-nine juniors have qualified for membership.
