Thomas Belcher

Thomas Belcher, 84, of Johnston, RI, passed away Saturday, August 8th after a long illness. He was a son of the late Ernest C. and Hazel R. Belcher.

He lived in Riverside, RI for 68 years before moving to Johnston in 2006. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was a retiree of Ciba Geigy of Cranston, RI. Tom loved the Yankees, Providence College Basketball, five-mile walks and bodybuilding. He also loved his many pets, especially Nimrod and Kismet.

He is survived by his sister Milly M. Proulx and his brother-in-law Michel Proulx of Scituate, RI and his nephew Steven Proulx and spouse Adalina of Germany. He leaves many other friends and relatives in Germany and also many friends among his caretakers and residents at The Bridge of Cherry Hill and a special friend, Emma Wood, of Mexico, Missouri.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Bridge for their excellent care of Tom. They also thank Adele Geringer LCWSW at the Providence VA Hospital for all of her assistance.

Funeral and burial are private.
