July 9 – Storytime with a Furry Friend: Join RISPCA humane educators at 10:30 a.m. at the Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library for a special story time about shelter animals. Registration is required.

July 9 - RISPCA Summer Learning Series: Rhode Island SPCA continues its Summer Learning Series on Wednesday, July 9. Please join us for a workshop with cat behavior specialist Cathy Simonini (of Cathy's Cat Corner), to learn how to strengthen your bond with your purry feline friend! July 15 – Fishing and Sea Shore Exploration: Join the Providence Urban Wildlife Conservation Partnership and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management for our Annual Shoreline Fishing and Sea Shore Exploration event on Tuesday, July 15 from 4-7 p.m. at Rocky Point State Park. July 31 – Food Trucks at Johnston Memorial Park: PVD Food Truck Events will be hosting a food truck night from 5-8:30 p.m. Enjoy a dozen or more food trucks at each event from a rotation of over 65 food trucks. In addition to great food, there will be live bands and Good Vibes Bevs will be serving up local beer and wine.

Aug. 15-17 – Ocean State Bluegrass Festival: Bluegrass fans and pickers: mark your calendar for the Ocean State Bluegrass Festival to be held Friday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 17 at Frerichs Farm, 65 Kinnicutt Ave., Warren. Aug. 24 – Johnston High School Reunion, Classes 1965 and 1966: Johnston High School will hold its class reunion for the classes of 1965 and 1966 on Sunday, Aug. 24, at The Dance Floor, 332 Atwood Avenue, Cranston, from 5-10 p.m.  Food, beer, wine and entertainment is included. No cash bar.  $55 pp. Dress is smart-casual. Oct. 4 – Toll Gate High School 50^th Reunion, Class of 1975: Join your classmates for the 50^th reunion of the Toll Gate Class of 1975 at the Quonset 'O' Club, 200 Lt.
