June 21 – Believers United in Christ: Believers United in Christ will hold an event at Johnston Memorial Park on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities planned include guest speakers, Living Scripture Theater and worship music by artist and song writer Eric Lee Brumley. This day will also offer prayer for our military, local and state representatives, first responders and school committees.

June 21 – Splash Pad Grand Opening: The Town of Johnston will hold a grand opening celebration of its new splash pad in Johnston Memorial Park. The event begins at 10 a.m. Come celebrate the first splash of the season at this family-friendly event!

June 21 – Special Olympics fundraiser: A Special Olympics fundraiser will be held on Saturday at the Johnston Recreation Center at 1741 Atwood Ave. There will be a wrestling spectacle, with all benefits going towards Special Olympics of RI. Begins at 5:30 p.m., show starts at 6 p.m.

June 21 – Outdoor Summer Concert: The Moosup Valley Church summer concert will be held Saturday from 6-8 p.m. on the outdoor stage (weather permitting, otherwise inside) at the beautiful, historical church at 81 Moosup Valley Rd., Foster. The concert will feature singer/songwriters Joanne Lurgio and Michelle Saylors. For more info, contact Laurie at 401-623-0320.

June 25 – Eating with the Seasons: Join Farm Fresh RI at the Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a lesson on how eating with the seasons can benefit your budget. Learn which produce is in season in Rhode Island and how to maximize your produce purchases with veggie substitutions.

June 28 – Sweet 16 Celebration: Local nonprofit Project Sweet Peas will hold a celebration of the work done to help those in the NICU community Saturday at 6 p.m. at Rhodes on The Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place. Attire is semi-formal. For more information, visit projectsweetpeas.com/sweet16celebration.

Aug. 24 – Johnston High School Reunion, Classes 1965 and 1966: Johnston High School will hold its class reunion for the classes of 1965 and 1966 on Sunday, August 24, at The Dance Floor, 332 Atwood Avenue, Cranston, from 5-10 p.m.  Food, beer, wine and entertainment is included. No cash bar.  $55.00 pp. Dress is smart-casual.
